FAQs

Frequently asked questions

The questions patients ask us most — about joining the practice, paying for treatment, emergencies and our free e-consultation. If yours isn't here, ring 01629 812 991 and we'll answer it in person.

Joining the practice

New patients

We’re not taking on new NHS patients at the moment — Diamond Court is largely a private practice, and many of our patients spread the cost of routine care with a Denplan plan. We do still provide NHS treatment for some existing patients; reception can tell you more.

Yes — Denplan plans cover routine care for a monthly amount, and Denplan Essentials members get 10% off treatment.

Reception will offer the earliest suitable slot; genuine emergencies are prioritised the same day wherever possible.

Not at all — it’s one of the most common situations we see. Your first visit is about planning the way forward, not going over the past.

Fees & payment plans

Paying for treatment

No. You’ll have a written estimate before treatment begins, and a revised estimate before we proceed with any change.

It depends on your oral health — we’ll assess at examination and recommend the most economical fit, not the biggest one.

Because teeth differ: a three-canal molar root treatment is simply more work than a one-canal incisor. Your written estimate is exact.

Our full private price list is a single PDF, always current — download it here, or ask at reception.

Dental emergencies

In pain?

We aim for the same day. Ringing before 9am gives us the best chance of an early slot.

In hours: our normal fee per item, with an estimate before treatment. Out of hours: a call-out fee plus treatment — both on our price list. The call-out fee is covered with Denplan Dental Emergency and Injury Cover.

Call us — we’ll do our best, and emergencies are triaged on need.

Call immediately. Baby teeth are managed differently from adult teeth (never re-insert a baby tooth), and we’ll talk you through it on the phone.

Free e-consultation

Online advice

Completely. There’s no charge, no obligation and no hard sell — just a dentist’s honest view of your options and what they’d roughly cost.

One of our dentists reviews every e-consultation personally. Your photo is stored securely, used only to advise you, and never shared.

Entirely up to you. Many people book a consultation to take things further; plenty just wanted to know what was possible. Both are fine.

It can’t diagnose pain, check gum health or replace an examination — a photo only shows so much. If something needs looking at properly, we’ll say so honestly.
